Going Steady

I'm back! It's been a few weeks since I've posted and many things have happend while I was away.

School is going good just keep trucking along. Recently made a 92 on my Organic Chemistry test, 87 on my Principles of Nutrition test, a 95.5 on my Microbiology test, and a 92 on my class discussion in Literature. So although stressful and tons of work, its been paying off in the recent weeks. Still waiting to get my final draft back for Health and Disease, so we will see what grade I make on that one. In the upcoming weeks I have a final paper for literature due, a final paper for Principles of Nutrition, another paper in Health and disease due, and 4 tests before finals start, so wish me luck!!

Things at the barn have been going well also! Kimberly took Brooke to a schooling show recently and I tagged along as groom for the weekend. The show was a success!!!! Brooke got first place in the BN combined test out of a field of about 15 horses in her first combined test (her first time jumping at a showever) finishing on her dressage score here is a picture of Kimberly and Brooke with the blue ribbon!  Brooke is a really cool horse, perfect for an amateur or professional wanting to move up the levels.

Brooke also did 1st level test 3 at the show and got a 64.52% . It was a great weekend! We also got to see Thatcher who is Brooke's sire while we were at the show.  I will link the videos of the 1st level test and the BN jumping round below.

The weekend before the show Kimberly took Brooke and Landzerin to Calimar for a Mary Bess clinic. They both did great and Mary Bess liked both of the horses! I am now riding Landzerin because there are quite a few training horses at the barn and not enough time in the day for Kimberly to ride everybody. I am having a blast!! He has come a long way in just one week, so I am excited to see what we can accomplish while I'm riding him. After a little pep-talk from Kimberly yesterday we went out in the field and did some cross-country work and some gallop sets on the driveway. It was totally fun! He defiantly feels more at home out of the arena (Kimberly was right :)). So will keep you updated on the progress of that. Hoping he can build my confidence and maybe I can teach him a few things.

A few other changes have happened at the barn since the last time I wrote. Sylvester went back home with his owners. Here is a picture of the orange pony before he left :) It was too cold to give him a bath so we had to leave him orange. I'm sure Sylvester didn't mind!

Kimberly is also riding the babies more often now. They are both about 2 1/2 now, so we are doing lite work with them.  Mainly walking up and down the driveway with a little trot here and there. So far so good! King has beaten Loyal is the ease department, but that's ok. Loyal was breed to be more of an athelete, so I guess he feels entitled to let us know it :) Here is a picture from King's first ride down the driveway and first trot.
My sister and I went to the Georgia game last weekend with our Dad. We were in one of the skysuites and had a blast even though the games wasn't all that close. Here is a picture of us with a little color added. Go Dawgs!
